Most of my research is based on virtualization and the development of various tools and use scenarios. The recent glacial developments in the Virtual Machine Monitors (VMM) and the phenomenon uptake by the research and industrial institutions have placed it in many data centers and software testing/development/certification test beds to better utilize server resources. Virtualization technology certainly provides that by enabliing host operating system to secure, isolated virtual machine environments which could be brought on demand while leaving a minimal or no digital foot print on the server; thus enabling a reliable and consistent quality of service.

The main tools and research projects are described here.

VGrid Portal

A web portal to manage a virtualized cluster using Xen Virtualization technology. It allows a user, system administrator to deploy a virtual machines on the configured cluster (part of the VGrid) through a web interface. It uses NICE authentication where each is restricted to its virtual machines. Virtual machines could be deployed/terminated with clicks of few button. At present four SLC3/4, SL3/4 images are provided for virtual machines. It also comes with the above mentioned image generation scripts both from the console and the web interface. See software...
